The Ferry Building to Mount Tamalpais Cycle Route
If you prefer travelling by two wheels, then this route from San Fransisco’s Ferry Building to Mt. Tam over in Marin is a must, at just under 60 miles it’s certainly worth the ride.
Cruise down the Embarcadero, over the Golden Gate Bridge, and through Sausalito on your way to Mill Valley as you take in city, water, and mountain views. It doesn’t get much better than this!
Crissy Field to Marin Headlands via the Golden Gate Bridge
Escaping the city and crossing the Golden Gate Bridge into the hills of Marin. Along the way experience great nature views, beaches, lighthouses, and awesome roads. Enjoying the peace and quiet of the Marin Headlands, where you can see the Golden Gate views among rolling hills and soaring raptors. The first part of the joy into the hills consists of a constant uphill climb for around 500 feet until reaching the summit of Hawk Hill. Zipping downhill on the curvy coastal road will lead you quickly past even more scenery, a multitude of old military concrete defense structures, and towards Point Bonita.
Baker Beach Trail to Golden Gate Bridge
This 6.3 highly trafficked trail from the Golden Gate Bridge to Baker Beach offers incredible views. Check out the bunkers or head out in the evening to watch an amazing sunset with great views of the GGB.
Presidio Loop Trail
Presidio Loop is a six-mile trail that’s great for walking or running also allowing dogs on a leash. It boasts beautiful wildflowers, views, and charming historical landmarks. Wander through the forests and grasslands on this rolling trail as you take in the views of the bridge and the bay.
